Cancer is not something out to get us…

Recently, an old friend of mine passed away from cancer. And, I’ve been seeing a lot of cancer related posts from my friends in FB. This video shows an amazing recount of a woman who was suffering from the same type of cancer my friend had had. She had and recovered from stage 4 Lymphoma. 5 Tips to Stay Healthy and Let Go Of Cancer

  1. Love yourself and treat yourself with love. Put yourself and your needs higher on your priority list.
  2. Come from a place of love, not fear. Take a deep look at why you do what you do. Do you do it because you’re afraid of something and you’re running away from something, or do you do it because you’re running to something and love the idea. (are you running away from being unhealthy or running towards being healthy… it’s a mindset, but it could be the difference)
  3. Don’t be afraid to be who you are and express yourself the way you want to.
  4. Find your joy! What fills your heart and makes you happy?
  5. Actively let go of your grudges, regrets, worries, resentments, anger, and fear. See exercises below for ideas.

Yes, let go of cancer…. that is, let go of all the stuff that is eating away at you, that’s CANCER. When I say that, I mean the fear, anger, resentment, hate, worry, and any grudges or negative feelings you have held on to for all these years. You’ve got to get in there and let them go. It’s like holding hot coal…. if all those feelings are the hot coal (cancer), it’s the person holding them that gets burned. Just let them go!

A Place to Start to Cancer – Proof Yourself

Start with an affirmation if you just can’t get rid of them. Say it often and break the record of those negative patters by saying this if an unwanted thought comes into your head…. “I let go of all the negative feelings, grudges, resentments I have held onto. I let them all go once and for all and I go free. I am free now. I am full of love.”

You are free to make up your own affirmation or visualization or other means of letting go. These were just some ideas to start with. My mom had cancer a while back, and she even ties it to something that was really bothering her. Don’t let you mind make you sick. You have too much living to do.

This was just one theory, but why not give it a shot to reduce the chances cancer will be in your life. At the very least, you’ll be free of negative emotions that could have been affecting you in more ways than one.

Healthy Isn’t Something Anyone Owes You

In a health store the other day, a heavyset women turned to me and mentioned a protein powder that she liked. I said that I was actually looking for something for my hubby, but that I was wanting to lose a few pounds. I added that if I could just stop “emotional eating” that they would come right off. She said to me, “oh, that’s not my problem, I’ve got lots of health problems. I have no doubt that she does have many labels to go with all the symptoms she has, but there is no excuse when it comes to what and how much of what you put in your body. You are doing that to yourself.

Health Can Be Yours with a Bit of Work

This video is a bit raw, but I love it’s message. You just can’t sit on the couch all day and put an unlimited amount of whatever you want in your mouth just because it tastes good and have the health and body you want. At some point, your body and health will reflect your lifestyle and stress level. Check it out:

How Often Do You Choose Health?

Every moment of everyday, you either choose health or you don’t. What do you put in your mouth? Is it nutrient dense, healthy, organic foods, or do you make excuses like “just this once” or “I’ll be good tomorrow” or “It’s a special occasion.” Thing is, you can do whatever you like, but know that your health is your choice. They say nutrition is 80% of your health and exercise is the other 20%. I agree, but I need to add that  a very big part of your health is also mastering your mind and emotions. Do you eat emotionally? Do you eat to protect you from something like intimacy, getting hurt, emotions, stress? It’s up to you to figure out how to maximize each part of equation to achieve the levels of health you want.

If You Want Health, Study Health

If health is what you want, study it. Learn what it is that truly healthy people do. If you wait until the symptoms flare up then just take the drug to subdue the symptoms and sign off as having an illness or disease, well, that is your choice. But, if you want to optimize your health, you can make that choice too. Become hyper-aware of how you feel after eating certain foods and talking to certain people. Find the areas in your life you can improve upon and make it a daily mission to do what’s required to reach your optimal level of health. I don’t necessarily think any one diet is the best for everyone, but I do think the less rules the better. Instead, choose a well balanced diet that gives you the nutrients you need with ingredients that are whole foods, instead of highly processed ones. You can find research to back up just about anything, so be careful to think you are doing things perfectly… that’s just when the universe chooses to show you otherwise. Instead, be open and flexible with your beliefs and rules so that you can evolve your life as needed.

You Can Have Health, It’s Your Choice

If you just read that sentence and thought, “but I can’t ever be healthy because…”, then you have a bigger problem than just nutrition. You’ll need to work on your mind to overcome the medical hexing you’ve received or accepted as truth, and truly believe you can be healthy again and/or have the health you want. Until then, nothing you do will work. You’ve got to stop with the story you keep telling about how sick you are. That is your first hurdle. Find a new story like, “I’m working hard to get healthy again” or something you can believe. Watch the video above, over and over… it might help!

Mindfulness for Daily Life – Transform your laundry, dishes, & emotional moments!

In a recent hangout with Pallavi Lal, I learned how to add mindfulness into my daily life.

Mindfulness during laundry and dishes? 

I had always felt like those tasks were ones I wanted to avoid… but to bring my attention to them? What? Well, I used Pallavi’s suggestion to bring mindfulness into these daily tasks and something amazing happened. They got done quicker! All of a sudden, dishes were done and laundry was done…. amazing! All I did was simply bring my attention to what I was doing, for example: With laundry, actually feeling the fabric and the seems on the clothing like the seems on the clothes; and with dishes feeling the water on my hands or the crumbs on the plates or the texture of the cup, etc. Mindfulness was that simple and it saved me time!

Mindfulness for Emotional Moments?

Emotional moments can be so overwhelming that the initial reaction is to escape somehow. When I’m confronted with stress, I often find myself grabbing a piece of chocolate and then I can handle that stress better. Thing is, I’m not allowing myself to experience that “emotional wave”, as Pallavi would say. She said that the emotional wave only lasts for 90 seconds! That’s it. I couldn’t believe it was just 90 seconds! Imagine if we were to practice mindfulness and be present to that uncomfortable situation instead of our opt-out, whether it’s eating chocolate or smoking or drinking, etc. We would have a different world… one with less smoking, less obesity, less addiction, less divorce… the list goes on and on.

Use Your Cravings to Fuel Healthy Habits

Cravings are more than just cravings!

Cravings are your body’s way of communicating with you.

What do those cravings mean?

According to Health Coach & Expert Blue Russ, there are some common reasons that someone may experience cravings, and she’s got some simple steps to follow when those cravings hit.  Below is a quick summary, so please have a look at the exclusive interview, also below, with Blue Russ where she shares much more detail about cravings and what to do with them.  Have a pen a paper handy… you’ll be glad you did!

7 Most Common Causes for Cravings from Blue Russ, Integrative Health Coach & Expert (this is short summary… watch the video below for more)

  1. A Lack of Primary Food – Primary foods are the things that are going on in our lives. If you want something crunchy, you may have unexpressed anger; if you crave ice cream you may need comfort; sweets could be your need for love or affection *maybe you just need a hug
  2. Expansion/Contraction  – Activities and foods can be expanding or contracting. For instance, computer work is contracting, and nature/stretching is expansive. So if you’re at a computer all day, you may crave expansion. Getting outside in nature or stretching could help… but Foods that are expansive are sugar and alcohol.
  3. Lack of Nutrients  -Cravings can relate to different nutrients the body needs. For instance, a sugar craving could mean you need protein. If you crave salt, then you may need minerals. Caffeine may be a general lack of everything. A chocolate craving may mean you need magnesium.
  4. Dehydration – Sometimes when you feel hungry, you’re body is actually very thirsty. Drink water!!!
  5. Seasons & Cycles – Our cravings can correspond to the seasons (winter/summer) and our cycles (moon/menstruation). Winter cravings are often for warming foods, summer cravings are often for cooling foods. May be hard to lose weight during winter or eat salads. Women need more magnesium the week leading up to menstruation, so a chocolate craving is common. Nuts and seeds also have magnesium.
  6. Inside Coming Out – This has to do with craving foods that you’ve eaten recently, because it is in your system. The first few days of cutting that food out will be the hardest.
  7. Fear of Change – Being overwhelmed by though of living differently, eating differently, changing is just too much. Your current discomfort may feel safer that the solution. You must make a decision to change or get a taste of success. Small changes can bring about major results, so start small.

3 Steps to Determining Which Craving You Are Having

  2. Take a Drink of Water
  3. Ask your body what it needs. Once you determine the source of your cravings, the solution presents itself. A Conversation with Cancer

What would Cancer say if it could talk?

May the following “Conversation with Cancer” be a catalyst to a deeper awareness about what cancer really is and what its job is.

Conversation with Cancer – START

Me: Are you there?

Cancer: Yes, I am. You seem afraid.

Me: Well yes, you’re cancer! People die because of you.

Cancer: There is no need to be afraid. First, know that I don’t want to hurt you or anyone.

Me: You don’t?

Cancer: No, not at all. I’m here to help.

Me: What? Help? Are you kidding?

Cancer: I’m serious. I’m here to help you and people everywhere.

Me: I don’t understand.

Cancer: Let me explain. Your body is infinitely wise and geared to survive. When there are toxins present, it works really hard to clean them up. And I’m a part of that clean up crew.

Me: You are? What’s your role?

Cancer: Well, I am an on-site trash/toxin disposal system. I am specifically engineered by the body to eat the toxic tissue and be on my way.

Me: If that’s the case, why do you often spread around the body?

Cancer: Well, my job is to eat up the toxic tissue, and many people are acquiring toxins faster than I can dispose of them.

Me: If you’re engineered by the body to do the on-site clean up, how is it that you can’t keep up?

Cancer: I was designed when there were no artificial foods, no engineered medications or medical procedures, no air or water pollution, no financial stress, etc. Today, the ways in which toxins can be accumulated are everywhere, and it’s not just the physical stuff… it’s the emotional too. I need the support of the individual in order to keep up.

Me: What do you mean by support?

Cancer: Well, if they eat and drink and think and act healthy, I will have a much better chance at cleaning up their body and being on my way.

Me: So, if a person does what they can to stop the toxins from entering their body by eating healthy foods, drinking healthy beverages, thinking healthy thoughts, and taking healthy actions like exercise and sleep, you’ll do your job and disappear?

Cancer: Yes, that’s exactly the case. I’m actually around much more than people think. I’m just in and out so quickly that most often people never know.

Me: What if a person has their tumor removed or gets chemo and radiation?

Cancer: In those instances, nothing preventative is being done. Trying to get rid of me should not be the entire objective, because I’m simply employed by the body to clean up. The focus should be to support the body in its clean up efforts. The bottom line is, a tumor in the body or any trace of me is an indication that the body has a large clean up job. And, if the person doesn’t change their habits quickly, their body will continue to accumulate toxins and need my assistance to address them again. On my end, I will try my best to keep cleaning up, but I can get overwhelmed and lose sight of my purpose just like a person can.

Me: Is this the case when people say that their cancer has spread?

Cancer: Yes and no. If toxins are everywhere or piling up somewhere new, I may get called in to do the clean up. If this is the case, chances are the body is still accumulating toxins at a fast rate. If I get overwhelmed, I may not be able to function properly. I need to be able to determine where the toxins are and where the body needs me.

Me: Can chemo and radiation help?

Cancer: Well, chemo and radiation destroy me along with a lot of other living cells in the body. In the end the body is often too weak to clean up the mess that’s left. If the person lives through chemo and radiation and cleans up their act, they may be able to clean up their body and turn things around without my help. They will need to be very focused on their clean up efforts though, because there will be a lot to clean up.

Me: What do we need to do?

Cancer: Well, the most important thing is to stop all toxins coming in. This includes how you eat, drink, breathe, think, feel, speak, exercise, rest, etc. If there are no toxins present in your body, then I’m not needed. If I do show up, it’s only to help. Thing is, I can only help with clean up. Every individual needs to take responsibility for the mess they are making of their bodies and change their ways.

Me: What about kids who get cancer?

Cancer: If I’m present, it just means there’s cleaning up to do. In addition to all the above aquired factors, often toxins have been inherited, as well as, acquired in utero. Every case is individual and a unique combination of physical and emotional toxins. The only constant in each situation is me. And, I’m simply on the clean up crew, hired by the body.

Me: Anything else?

Cancer:  Yes. Your body is quite amazing and its intelligence is infinitely wise. The focus should always be on how to best support the body, not on how to destroy aspects of it that are not yet understood. That’s why I’m feared, I’m misunderstood.

Me: Thank you. I feel that I understand you and your role in the body much better.

Cancer: You’re welcome. Thank you for taking the time to understand me better. Please tell others I’m not the bad guy. I’ve been convicted without a trial.

Me: I will. Thank you for your clean up efforts. I will work hard to support my body so you don’t have any work to do.

Cancer: Sounds great! I love being on vacation!

Conversation with Cancer – End

Many people may think I’m crazy for having a conversation with cancer… truth is, I think we are crazy not to. This technique to talk to your self or any aspect of your life can give you great insight into what you think and feel, as well as, a new perspective if you are open to it.

To Heal or Not to Heal…

Do You REALLY want to heal?

Whether or not you heal IS up to you, even if you don’t think it is.

The other day, I was talking with a friend whose sister has cancer. He was very concerned about her and so were the doctors. He went on to explain that she had been to many specialists, and they just don’t think she’ll make it very long. With just a few questions, I come to find out that she was still drinking diet sodas and other artificially flavored drinks. And, unfortunately for her and her family, it sounds like her diet was the least of her concerns, and it wasn’t going to change.

In the past, when I would hear that someone was ill or unhappy, I was immediately drawn to help them. I wanted to share information about healing and show them a way out of their pain. I realize now that my need to help others is not always matched with a need to heal. See, sometimes pain serves us. It seems crazy, but people must to really want to heal if they are going to heal. They can’t just want to be healthy and not do the work.

So, what now? I love to share information with others on ways they can improve their lives, but I realize now that not everyone really wants to improve things. I know many people who have illnesses, but continue with an unhealthy diet and unhealthy habits like smoking. I’ve found that all I can do is listen and be open to what it is that each person needs, whether it’s some help or just someone to hear their story.

After a closer examination of my own life, I realize that I also fall victim to the same game… just in different arenas of my life. I talk a big talk about wanting to dress nicer, wear jewelry, and have my hair and nails done just so, etc. But, the truth is, my life is easier without all that right now. See, I have a toddler and by the end of the day my hair, clothes, and nails are a mess… no matter how they started. And, my time right now is better spent doing other things that hold a higher priority.

So, my question to you is… do you really want to heal? Many people are on the “I want to lose weight” rollercoaster or talk about eating healthier or getting in shape. I wonder if they enjoy talking about it more than they would actually enjoy the end goal. See, if you were to lose weight, you might get a LOT of attention from others and you may subconsiously not want it or you may simply enjoy your anonymity now. Perhaps adopting a healthier diet sounds appealing, but if you did, you would actually have to eat a healthier diet and perhaps you’d really rather enjoy the “unhealthy” things your currently eat. Also, many people want to heal from illnesses like cancer, but do they really? If healing means needing to eat a certain way and making a change in lifestyle, then the answer for many people is no. Just look at their choices. This can be very hard for family, loved ones, and anyone to watch. I’m sure you can find examples of some of these very close to home, even in your own life.

What will you choose? To heal or not to heal? Do you find yourself hoping to heal different areas in your life or claiming to make changes and not following through? If yes, a thorough investigation of the reasons that may be keeping you from what you think you’d like may just be what you need to decide to make it happen or let it go. What are your priorities? That extra serving or to be thin? To maintain your freedom to enjoy an indulgent and unhealthy lifestyle or to overcome cancer? We can’t judge people’s choices, because everyone is on their own path unique to them. See, an extra serving may just help absorb emotions that are almost out of control. So, until the emotions are addressed, perhaps the extra serving is more important than to be thin.

I have become so much more aware of how we are all doing our best with what we have and what we know, no matter the case. In every situation, we can help others greatly by simply having an open heart and accepting the path they choose, even if we might lose them. You might even find that accepting and just listening to others can open them up to what you know and how you might help them.

Cancer speaks for itself. The very word cancer brings about fear and other strong emotions. Why is this? We have come to believe that cancer has power over us, over our lives and those of our loved ones. In today’s medical world, if one has cancer than it’s time for battle. Put on your army gear and get ready to attack. The problem is, we have it all wrong. Cancer is not the bad guy. We are asking all the wrong questions. We should not be asking “How do we get rid of cancer?”; instead we should be asking “How can we get rid of what is causing cancer?” Just getting rid of cancer is like getting rid of the popped tire without even stopping to look at the nails in the driveway. The day my mom told me she had cancer is a day I will never forget. It was devastating for me to hear those words. I was no good to anyone, even her, because I was so upset. Now, years later, I see that if I’d known more about cancer and its role in the body, I would have been empowered to support her at a time she really needed it, as well as, guide her in ways to support her body so it can heal. Modern medicine came to her rescue with surgery along with a change in diet and lifestyle. Today my mom is cancer free. Her journey of healing was a journey of growth for me, as I started learning more and more about cancer and its role in our lives. In the end, I’ve gained a new appreciation for the power of the body and the power of natural methods of healing.

How to Heal Cancer Naturally is Scientifically Acknowledged in 1931

For those of you faced with the presence of cancer in your lives or that of a loved one, there is hope. Cancer is a result of many factors that are unique to each person, so the methods in which one can maximize healing will also be unique to each person. A common and very effective treatment is an immediate improvement in diet and lifestyle. There are some who believe that diet and lifestyle changes are all that is needed to completely heal oneself of cancer. I definitely believe that this is possible. 1931 Nobel Prize winner Dr. Otto Warburg discovered that cancer cells thrive in a low-oxygen state. So, when your body cells and tissue are acidic they lose their ability to exchange oxygen, and cancer cells thrive. On the other hand, when your body cells and tissue are alkaline, cancer cells find it difficult to survive because of the high amount of oxygen present. So, my question is, why don’t more cancer doctors promote methods to make the body less acidic and more alkaline before more drastic measures? It’s simple, non invasive, proven, inexpensive, painless, and scientifically proven and acknowledged… Maybe it’s because it doesn’t require a doctor??? Hmmm, makes you think!

American Doctors Do Everything to Not Heal Cancer Naturally

The father of a friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer. When he went in for his “tests”, they had him drink a very surgary liquid to check if he had cancer. She told me that the cancer “likes” the sugar and is attracted to it. The doctors know that cancer thrives when this liquid is present, so why would they allow him to put it in his body? That very liquid is very acidic, hence makes any cancer situation worse and might just be the cause of it in the first place. By creating an acidic environment, the doctors have a better chance to find cancer and then treat it. Wouldn’t it make more sense to create an alkaline environment in the body and then test for cancer? Yes and no. Yes because patients would be cancer free, and no because doctors would have less cancer patients. See, no cancer can survive in an alkaline environment so the doctors would never see it. They have to create an acidic environment or cancer won’t be a problem. What??? Cancer won’t be a problem… but that’s what we want! Do doctors want cancer to be a problem? Cancer won’t survive if we simply create an alkalilne environment in the body, and doctors know this, even a nobel prize winner told the world about this. Why is this not the standard method of treatment? Does the medical community fear they would lose business? Aren’t they in the business of making people healthy? I’m not so sure.

He wrote the books “We Want to Live” and “The Recipe for Living Without Disease” which both have some enlightening information including food remedies for many specific conditions. When he talks about cancer, he explains that it’s the body’s inability to get rid of dead tissue. He adds that the body collects dead tissue into tumors and can usually dissolve and eliminate them gradually if given the necessary nutrition. Interestingly enough, we do the same thing in our lives. If there’s a lot of dirt on the floors or leaves on the grass, we first sweep them into a pile. And our clean up efforts would too be compromised if we failed to have properly working tools for disposal, like our hands or a dustpan, etc. In fact, I remember my dad burning huge piles of brush when I was a kid, because that was the only way to quickly and efficiently dispose of the brush. The piles had to be clean and neat or the fire burned surrounding brush. There was one time the ground burned all the way to the house, because the brush was so overgrown. Could burning a brush pile to remove it be like cancer disolving tumors to quickly dispose of them? And, could out of control brush that may catch fire be like out of control toxins and debris (dead cells) feeding cancer in your system? Therefore, more out of control the brush the larger the fire; and the more out of control the toxins in and entering your system, the more out of control your cancer.  I think maybe so. So, remember to do your research and find out what the diet’s healing track record is before your subscribe to it. Your health is too important, and nutrition plays too big of a role.

Consciousness and How to Heal Cancer Naturally

Here’s another thought about healing from cancer. As a BodyTalk pracitioner, I learned a lot about consciousness and how it can affect the body. In one class, an instructor had brought up for discussion that perhaps cancer was something “eating away at you” on more than just a physical level. So, my question to you is do you have anything in your life, past regrets or heartaches or decisions or losses, that are eating away at you? If yes, addressing these concerns can very much affect the health of your body. One of my favorite healing stories is of one woman went to a BodyTalk practitioner to address her cancer. This client was getting BodyTalk, because after her appendix with cancerous tumors was removed, the tumors returned. These cancerous tumors grew back in the exact same location they had been even though she had no appendix. During the BodyTalk session, it was uncovered that when this client was a child she got into a playground fight. She stood up to the school bully, punched him, bursting his appendix which sent him off in an ambulance. Everyday since, this client regretted it and wished she could take it back. Well, she did… just in the form of cancer. After the BodyTalk session, the cancer went away on its own. It’s time to make peace with your life, your decisions, and your actions because they will catch up with you!

Emotions and How to Heal Cancer Naturally

For those of you new to the way emotions can affect the body, there are a few great books out there. Two of my favorites are the “Biology of Belief” by Dr. Bruce Lipton and “Hidden Messages in Water” by Dr. Masuro Emoto. Lipton, former medical school professor and research scientist, proves that our DNA is actually controlled by signals outside the cell, like our thoughts and emotions. What are your thoughts and emotions doing to your DNA? Emoto photographs water crystals and the effects emotional words have on them. Beautiful crystals form with kind words and thoughts while scattered and messy crystals form with negative words and thoughts. If water is affected this way, how are we affected by words and thoughts and emotions? We are in large part, water.

Be Your Own Boss on How to Heal Cancer Naturally

When trying to make your decision about how to move forward with treatment for yourself of a loved one, consider all the information out there. A lot of people will claim to know what’s best, but the truth is, you have to trust your intuition and do your research. Then, it’s even more important to check in with yourself along the way to see how things are going. For those more comfortable with conventional medicine and hospitals, I strongly recommend watching Dr. Lorraine Day’s video. Dr. Lorraine Day was a medical doctor, and when she was faced with breast cancer she opted not to go through with the recommended medical treatments. She had seen what these treatment methods were doing to people and was not about to sign up. She was healed completely without the standard modern medical intervention. It’s a great introduction to natural medicine, has a ton of great natural healing and wellness advice, and can help even the most conventional minded open up to a more holistic way to heal.
